Brain Development & Learning: Making Sense of the Science

We have received a request to forward the following conference notice to the membership. As there is a connection to the work of parenting coordinators we have agreed.

This notice is distributed on behalf of:

Prof. Adele Diamond, PhD, FRSC
Canada Research Chair Professor of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, UBC
Conference Organizer

(The conference after this will not be for 3 years. The last one was in July 2010.)

All 34 talks are by invited speakers who are world-famous experts as well as terrific communicators.

For example, Bill Beardslee, MD, Chair of Psychiatry at Harvard, will talk about ways to help and support children when a parent is depressed.

Michelle Chaban, Director and Founder of the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Program for Healthcare Professionals, Business Executives, and Educators at the Univ or Toronto will speak on “Listening is Perhaps the Clearest Expression of Love.”

99% of the 638 who attended the last meeting rated it *OUTSTANDING*!!

“One of the best conferences I have ever attended – it was inspiring.”

“Great balance between research and practical application.”

“I appreciate all the ways the speakers had us questioning premises and assumptions we base our practices on.”

“What a wonderful experience!”
