2021 Parenting Coordination Online Training

There are two options, a 24 hour course or a 40 hour version depending upon the requirements of your local jurisdiction and/or statutes. 24 and 40 hr versions meet the training requirements of the AFCC. Participants must attend all live meetings, review all recordings, and complete assignments in order to receive their certificate of completion.

Basics of family law for mental health professionals

For those interested in practicing as parenting coordinators, this 7-hour program will provide an introduction to the rule of law and the principles of fundamental justice for mental health professionals and individuals other than lawyers. It will discuss the primary family law concepts that relate to parenting coordination, including the best-interests factors and test, developing parenting plans, and legal remedies for the breach of orders and agreements.

Basics of psychology for family law lawyers

For those interested in practicing as parenting coordinators, this 7-hour program will provide a general overview of attachment theory, family systems theory, child developmental psychology, separation and the grieving process, and the short- and long-term impact of parental conflict on the wellbeing of children. It is intended for family law lawyers and individuals other than mental health professionals.

Parenting Coordination Online Training

Parenting Coordination is a child-centred dispute resolution process for families with children who are separated or divorced and continue to have unresolved conflict. Generally, it is a process that includes coaching, and education, consensus building and, when authorized, decision making. Families can enter parenting coordination by contract or court order, depending on the laws in their area.
