I have dedicated my professional life to supporting children and their families. Since completing my graduate studies in Counselling Psychology in 2008, I have primarily worked therapeutically with children, adolescents, parents and couples experiencing complex family situations. I completed additional post-graduate level coursework to clinically support my work with couples, families, children and youth.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor with BCACC, and a Registered Play Therapist & Play Therapy Supervisor in BC. I have extensively trained and work from a developmental neurobiological lens that supports healthy attachment principles in parenting and a family systems philosophy to best support children. Much of my private practice work focused on separated/ separating families, parents in conflict, and their children. As a child psychotherapist who still supports children and teens in my practice and supervises others who are working with children, I remain committed to keeping children at the heart of the co-parenting issues.
I am trained to assess parental capacity, previously contracted by Calgary Child & Family Services for Alberta Family Courts. After moving back to BC, I continued training as an assessor to write family court reports that evaluate children’s needs in family law disputes. As a PC roster member, I have completed Family Mediation, Arbitration, Co-Parent Coaching and Parenting Coordination training. I am also a Roster member for the BC Hear the Child Society and a member of AFCC and our local AFCC chapter.
I am currently the Clinical Director/ Owner of Allius Services in Nanaimo, BC.
