I have a Master of Clinical Social Work degree, and during my over twenty-five years of practice I have provided individual, couple’s, family, and group counselling. I have extensive experience working with families navigating the process of separation and facilitated Parenting After Separation workshops (a provincial court mandated program). I also have significant experience interviewing and assessing children and adolescents in various mental health settings.
Working primarily with separated parents, and regarding their interactions with each other, I supported them to make healthy choices that also considered the best interests of their child (ren), with the goal of providing healthier outcomes for each family member. This continues to guide my work as a parenting coordinator and healthy outcomes may include reduced conflict, improved communication, and optimal support for children. I also have considerable experience with other issues that may provide challenges to separated families such as mental health and addictions.
Sessions are offered primarily via on-line video conferences and teleconferences to limit the costs, while in-person sessions are also utilized. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions and please go to http://www.pcnealetaverner.com for more information.
